UK-led rescue plan for OneWeb Approved by US Regulators
With immaculate timing, just prior to the presidential election, which might have influenced opinion, is the approval by US regulators of the Anglo-Indian joint rescue plan of the bankrupt US company OneWeb. This will give the UK access to its own satellite system, since from December 31st, the UK is barred access to the EU Gallileo satellite system, despite being obliged in part to fund it. It is hoped that OneWebb should be capable of providing GPS and broadband coverage beamed from numerous satellites.
