The UK government is quietly pushing through the Planning & Infrastructure Bill, a sweeping piece of legislation that will strip away local decision-making, expand state control over land and property, and consolidate power under unelected authorities.

This bill is being rushed through Parliament with minimal public awareness, but its consequences will be permanent and

far-reaching. It represents a fundamental shift away from democratic governance, echoing authoritarian models where the state dictates land use, suppresses public opposition, and removes accountability from elected representatives.

If passed, this bill will:

Eliminate local council autonomy – Local councils will be stripped of control, forced to merge planning strategies under government directives, eliminating local decision-making and centralizing authority. This mirrors communist regimes, where regional planning was dictated by the state with no regard for local needs.

Transfer planning power from elected officials to government appointees

Planning decisions will no longer be made by elected officials, but by unelected government appointees. A direct step toward an authoritarian system where policies are enforced without public accountability.

Make private property more vulnerable to state seizureCompulsory purchase orders will be expanded –

Private property rights will be eroded, making it easier for the state to seize land through compulsory purchases. Just like in Soviet-style regimes, where land was systematically taken under the guise of “development” or “public benefit.”

Silence public objections and legal challenges –

Public objections will be silenced, legal challenges against major developments will be blocked, ensuring that once a decision is made by the state, it cannot be challenged, exactly how authoritarian governments eliminate dissent.

The Heritage Party is calling on MPs to learn from real historical facts, not just from rewritten sources, but from those who have experienced these oppressive systems firsthand, before they even consider supporting such a proposal.

This is a “stamp-like” bill, designed to lock in total control, and it will affect every single person in the UK.
