Conversion Practices – Updated Policy

The Heritage Party’s policy on Conversion Practices has been updated in the light of a potential ban by the current Labour government:

“We oppose a ban on what Cultural Marxists have labelled ‘conversion practices’. This term deliberately conflates harmful practices that are already banned, such as electroshocking, with counselling, therapy, prayer and pastoral care for people seeking help with gender dysphoria or unwanted same-sex attraction.

Everyone must continue to have the freedom of speech to express any opinion they wish about homosexuality and transgenderism, and to offer and receive any kind of counselling, talking therapy, prayer or pastoral care on these topics. Parents must also continue to have the right to oppose, resist and undo any damage done by LGBTQQIAAPPP+ activists who target and groom children into transgenderism or becoming sexually active.

Resisting a so-called ‘conversion therapy ban’ is essential to maintain free speech and to protect our children.”
